Elder Rescue: What to Do If You See an Abandoned Senior Citizen on the Street
A practical guide to helping abandoned senior citizens in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh — who to call, what to do, and how Blooming Heartz takes it from there.

Most of us have seen it: an elderly person sitting alone on a pavement, looking unwell, with no one around. It is unsettling. The good news is, there are clear steps you can take.
First — make sure they're safe
Approach gently. Offer water. Don't crowd. Ask their name, where they're from, and whether they need a doctor. If they seem injured or extremely weak, call 108 (ambulance) immediately.
Then — call us
If they need long-term help, call Blooming Heartz Foundation Trust on our rescue line or WhatsApp. We serve Chennai, Tiruvallur, Padiyanallur, Redhills, Avadi, Ponneri in Tamil Nadu, and Ongole, Mangamuru and nearby parts of Andhra Pradesh's Prakasam district.
What happens next
Our team or a partner volunteer reaches the location, often within hours. We arrange first aid, food, hydration and a calm conversation. If the elder has no family willing or able to care for them, we move them to one of our homes — for good.
What you can share with us
A clear address or landmark, a photo (only if you've asked the elder), and a phone number we can reach you on. The more specific, the faster we move.
You don't need to be a social worker to save a life. A single call is sometimes enough.
